On our website, we offer users the opportunity to register by providing personal data. The data is entered into an input mask and transmitted to us and saved. The following data is collected during the registration process:

  • URZ login code of the user (transmitted via Single-Sign-On of TU-Chemnitz)
  • First name and surname (transmitted via Single-Sign-On of TU-Chemnitz)
  • E-mail address (transmitted via Single-Sign-On of TU-Chemnitz)
  • Residence and rooms
  • Network socket in the room
  • MAC address of the computer

At the time of registration, the following data is also stored:

  • Date and time of registration

In the course of the registration process, the user's consent to the processing of this data is obtained. The data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

The personal data is checked by employees of the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau in order to validate the registration.

In case of an accepted registration the user is entitled to use the network infrastructure of the Chemnitzer StudenenNetz.

The personal data is made available to the University Computer Centre of the Technical University.

Purpose of data processing

A registration of the user is necessary for the provision of certain contents and services on our website.

By registering, the user is provided with a network connection to the university network of the Chemnitz University of Technology. The data serves the following purposes:

The activation of the user's devices at the network infrastructure of the Chemnitzer StudenenNetz. The information about his account activities. Verification of the user's account validity vis-à-vis the Chemnitz University of Technology. Notification of the user about maintenance work on the infrastructure of the Chemnitzer StudenenNetz.

Duration of storage

The data, if collected by the Chemnitzer StudenenNetze, will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of their collection.

This is the case for the data collected during the registration process if the registration on our website is cancelled.

Registration shall be cancelled:

  • An employee of the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau moves the user out of the dormitory.
  • The user account of the user at Chemnitz University of Technology is invalid for more than 30 days.

Data will be deleted as follows:

User data, such as name, dormitory room, e-mail and registered devices, are deleted after the end of registration. User accounts will be deleted 90 days after the end of registration.

Some data processing procedures are only possible with your express consent. A revocation of your already given consent is possible at any time. An informal notification by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of the data processing up to the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

As the person concerned, you have a right of appeal to the responsible supervisory authority in the event of a breach of data protection law. Right to data transferability

You have the right to have data which we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to yourself or to third parties. It is provided in a machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another person responsible, this will only take place if it is technically feasible.

Right to information, correction, blocking, deletion

You have the right to free information about your stored personal data, the origin of the data, its recipients and the purpose of data processing and, if necessary, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data at any time within the scope of the applicable legal provisions.
