Calling up captive portals is similar to logging into public networks such as those of hotels, restaurants and train-stations.

In the case of CSN, captive portal are used to register devices.

Captive portals open up automatically either directly after connecting to the correctly connected router. Alternatively one can call them up by opening a webbrowser. Usually one can spot a button calling for logging into the network.
